Here's to Obsessions

My sister seems to get a kick out of me pointing out my flaws like this.
Here is part two.

One.  I sit at the kitchen table with my legs propped up and my laptop open to the latest show I'm watching while doing nothing else all day.  The most recent ones have been The Walking Dead, Parks and Recreation, Arrow, Suits, and the Blacklist and I won't stop until the show is finished.  The five seasons of Parks probably took me a week and the three and a half seasons of Suits were complete in a few days.

Two.  I like to read a lot.  When I do, I focus on my book and ignore all sounds around me; I don't hear people speaking even if they are right next to me.  I tend to stay in the same spot all day and when Ashlee comes home she says, "You're right where I left you."  When I purchase books either in the same series or even if it's by the same author, they need to look the same. I will now fill my own shopping cart for birthdays and Christmases so I have them look how I want.

Three.  When I find a song I enjoy, I put it on repeat and listen to it over and over until I get sick of it (and that can take a very long time). Sometimes I am referred to as the lyric police because I know a lot of lyrics to songs, only because I listen to them so much.

Four.  After Kelsie got married I got all the leftover flowers and put them in my room. I was literally surrounded by flowers and the smell was so strong. On my bedroom wall most of the prints are of flowers and if I was wealthy I would by fresh flowers every day.  If anyone gets me flowers I will love them forever.

Five. I have what you would probably call an immature food palate. I love cafeteria food, fast food, and food you get in the freezer section like hot pockets or Totino's pizza. I enjoy fake cheese like velveeta or easy cheese or whatever is in the cheese dogs (I used to sneak into the kitchen and eat those hot dogs cold). When my cousin Austin and I were younger we made ramen a lot and would put ice cubes in it to cool it down. Low quality food is the best!

Television

There are three shows that I have been watching a lot and am completely obsessed about.

1] White Collar

I started watching this show during Christmas Break.  There were already three and a half seasons and the second half of the fourth season started on January 22.  I watched it constantly to get caught up and I loved every minute of it.  It is hilarious and very frustrating at times.  It is about an art thief, Neal, who gets caught and teams up with the FBI White Collar unit to solve crimes.  He has a tracking anklet and is always monitored.  Sometimes Neal is rebellious and does stupid things, but everything works out in the end.  However, be careful.  Even though in the show Neal is a very attractive man, don't think the same for real life.  Google him at your own risk but I don't advise it.

2] Sherlock

A new season is not going to start for a while since Watson is the main guy on The Hobbit.  Each episode is a little over an hour. There are two seasons, three episodes each.  Sherlock and Watson are perfectly paired friends who are very witty and constantly argue.  Sherlock has a great memory and solving crimes is fun for him.

3] Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey is set in the early 1900s and starts right after the Titanic sunk.  It follows the lives of a rich family in London and their servants.  It is a drama, comedy, and romance all in one.  There are many different characters and they are all diverse.  I get so caught up in this show that I feel as though I am living at Downton!

Avatar

I just barely finished the last episode on the last season of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Not the movie with blue people, but the anime tv show. IT IS SO GOOD!!! My family thought I was weird for liking this show but I just had to keep going. It got so intense and I couldn't wait to finish. It didn't matter that the characters were animated. They became real and they were all perfect for their roles. Now there is a continuation of Avatar called The Legend of Korra. I'll probably start it today. I've heard nothing but good things about it!

Charly

Last night, I watched a sad movie called Charly, based off a book written by Jack Weyland. I was in the company of three of my greatest friends Mikayla, Katelyn, and Katelyn. It was so much fun and halfway through the movie, we got some popcorn and kool-aid. Although the movie is sad, it is also really cute and slightly cheesy. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you should. But you may cry...like all of us did :)

Two Juniors and a Freshman

So...Hunger Games the movie is coming to theaters on March 23.  And I guess you could say that some of my friends and I are very excited and want to be prepared for it.  We have been planning on making t-shirts to wear when we go to the midnight showing and we decided to work on them last night.  First, we went to Target and got black and gray shirts.  Then we came back to my house and we started to paint on them.  What we did was we got foam stamps and paint and wrote on the back "MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR." We are finishing them today, but man they look good.  It was lots of fun doing this too!

This is Me, Rachel

Hallmark Season

Watching Hallmark movies is the perfect holiday activity, at least I think so!  I have at least 15 recorded on my tv right now and there are many more that will be recorded this month.  Watching these is one of my favorite things to do. Just a few nights ago, my sister Ashlee and I watched one called Comfort and Joy.  We made hot chocolate and it was pretty good.  It was a lot of fun to spend time with her and I can't wait to do it again!
