Piano Guys Christmas concert

#fifthwheel
I went to the Piano Guys Christmas concert this year with Paul, Ashlee, Tyler, and Lindsey.  We first went to Wild Zucchini and got Iceberg shakes at the concert to eat while listening to the piano and cello music.  This evening was as enjoyable as last year when I went and I look forward to going again.

Wicked

I've listened to the Wicked soundtrack most of my life but never truly knew the storyline.  So when Wicked was coming to Salt Lake I had to go, and I'm glad I did.  With dinner at Cheesecake Factory beforehand to eat lemon chicken and vanilla bean cheesecake, it was the perfect way to start the night out.  And the play was great.  Although it was freezing where we sat underneath the air vent, the music and acting was fantastic.  My favorite song is Defying Gravity and they did it justice.  Beautiful.

American Idol

My family and I all agree, that this year was a huge disappointment for American Idol.  But it's hard to beat the year with Phillip Phillips when he sang "Home" and started crying during the finale because that was one magical song and performance.
The favorites were Sam and Alex.  After they were voted off we had no more interest in the show, until it was announced that Phillip Phillips would be singing with Sam in the finale.
The songs I like best of Alex's are Story of my Life, Fairytales, and Say Something.  For Sam I like I Tried, Just One, Time After Time, Sail Away, and It's Time.  Too hard to pick just one.

Twenty One Pilots

I went to a Twenty One Pilots concert with Josh and Kelsie this past week.
\\ Dinner at Chubby's which I highly recommend.  Good burgers and yummy beer battered fries.
\\ Amazing music with two very entertaining guys.
\\ Girls in front of us had their hair down and kept getting closer and closer to us.  It was so hot and their hair kept brushing against us.  Very annoying.
\\ My personal favorites of theirs are Guns For Hands, The Run And Go, and Truce.  But really, I love all their songs.

A Family Christmas

Kelsie, Josh, and I went to The Piano Guys concert last night and it was amazing!  They played a mix of Christmas songs (my favorite was Angels We Have Heard on High) and normal songs (my all-time favorite, Love Story Meets Viva la Vida).  It hasn't really felt like Christmas to me this season, which is totally my fault, but this concert definitely helped me get on the right track.  We ended with everyone singing Silent Night together and it was beautiful.  The piano has always been my favorite instrument, but Steven Sharp Nelson sure makes the cello come close to the top.

Imagine Dragons

We all agreed that this was one of the best concerts ever.  Even the songs like Radioactive and Demons that are on the radio all the time were good live.  We drove up to Weber and ate at Jake's Over the Top before the concert and bought shirts afterwards.  It was a really fun night spent with my sisters and I would definitely go to their concert again.  They are so good!

The Piano Guys

Kels and I went to The Piano Guys concert with Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson.  It was rainy and we didn't have a good view, but it was amazing to hear them live.  It was a lot of fun and we warmed up with hot chocolate when we got home.

Here are two of my favorites that they played:

One Direction Infection

Yes.  I do have One Direction Infection.  My friends and I constantly watch their music videos and diaries that they make.  We listen to their songs over and over and over again.  We all have a favorite boy (mine happens to be Niall, the Blondie), but we really do love them all.  Hopefully we will go to their concert next year!

Obsession

I watch this video all the time.  Honestly I do.  I haven't watched Glee for a long time, so I don't know much about the characters.  However, I do know that the main singer is gay in the show...but hopefully not in real life :)  I love this and you want to know a secret?  I get a little giddy every time I watch it!

P.S.  Conrad and Phoebe like to watch this too and dance to it.  Conrad even knows the words!

P.P.S.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANS!!!!!!!!

Singers

Last week, I walked into my house after I was done with my piano lessons and I heard Kelsie yelling at me to go to the computer room and listen to something. She was supposed to be doing homework, but instead was looking on YouTube for good singers. She found these two guys, Boyce Avenue and Tyler Ward. We really like them :)

Riverwoods

Last Friday, I went down to Riverwoods with some of my friends to listen to Jon Schmidt play. There were a few singers before him, but he finally came on stage. He played some Christmas songs and then he started to play my all-time favorite song of his. It is called Love Story meets Viva la Vida and it is so pretty! Hearing this song gives me the chills, especially hearing it in person. His dancing makes me laugh but he is just so good.

Michael Ethington

When I went to Swiss Days, Lindsey and I heard some of Michael Ethington's hymn arrangements. They are so pretty! We bought a CD and a piano book so I could hopefully one day be able to play them. But who knows when that day will come...
